Privacy Policy
Effective August 2026
Solen is a personal training and coaching app. This policy explains what data Solen handles and why. Your personal training content is stored on your device. Relevant context is sent when you use AI coaching, and limited operational records support access and usage controls.
Data stored on your device
Your profile, training program, workout logs, check-ins, body measurements, progress photos, and meal logs are stored locally on your device. Solen does not keep a server-side copy of that complete training history. Until user-controlled transfer is available, this data cannot be restored after the app is deleted or the device is lost or replaced.
Apple Health
If you choose to connect Apple Health, Solen requests read-only access to the health and activity categories shown in Apple’s permission sheet. Imported values are stored with your other on-device measurements. They may be included in the relevant context sent to our AI provider when you use AI coaching, as described below. Solen does not write to Apple Health. You can change access at any time in the Health app or iOS Settings.
Measurement report scans
If you choose a measurement-report photo or PDF, Solen reads it on your device using Apple system frameworks and, when available, Apple’s on-device language model. Solen does not send the report, its pages, filename, or recognized text to Solen, Apple, OpenAI, analytics, or crash reporting. You review and confirm extracted values before they are stored with your on-device measurements. Temporary report data is discarded after saving, cancellation, or failure. Confirmed measurements may later be included in relevant AI-coaching context as described below.
Existing program PDF imports
If you choose to continue with an existing training program during onboarding, Solen sends the one PDF you select to protected temporary storage and to our AI provider, OpenAI, so it can organize a program for your review. Solen accepts one PDF up to 20 MB and does not make the result active until you approve it. To let an interrupted review resume, Solen temporarily stores the organized review result in protected storage; Firestore keeps only content-free coordination and integrity details, not the PDF or organized program content. Solen deletes the protected on-device PDF as soon as you accept or cancel and requests immediate deletion of both temporary server copies. Inactive server copies are automatically deleted after one hour. The accepted program is stored on your device; Solen does not keep the original PDF with it. OpenAI may separately retain API inputs and outputs in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days, or longer when legally required. OpenAI does not use API data to train its models unless the customer explicitly opts in; Solen does not opt in. Product analytics, crash reporting, and AI operations records never receive the PDF, filename, program contents, goals, exercises, prescriptions, or review decisions.
Operational service records
After you consent, Solen creates an anonymous Firebase service login rather than asking for a named account. The login is required to secure AI requests, access controls, usage limits, privacy requests, and notification delivery. Our service keeps limited records linked to that identifier, including coaching usage counters, access level, the latest app version and build observed from existing service requests and version checks, and—when Intro access applies—its start date, status details, and expiry date. If you enable notifications, it also keeps a Firebase Cloud Messaging device token and entitlement-tier notification group. To operate and improve AI coaching, we also keep short-lived technical request records: selected model and reasoning setting, token counts, calculated service cost, response time, and success or error status. We do not store prompts, coaching responses, plan content, or health values in these records. These records are separate from the complete training history stored on your device.
AI coaching
To generate coaching, Solen sends relevant context—your goals, training history, and confirmed metrics such as weight, body fat, recovery, and sleep, along with check-in notes, meal notes, or chat messages you choose to enter—to our AI provider, OpenAI. This data is processed to serve you and is not used to build advertising profiles. OpenAI may retain API inputs and outputs for abuse monitoring for up to 30 days, or longer when legally required. Progress photos and raw measurement reports are not sent. The separate, consent-bound handling of an existing program PDF is described above.
Analytics & diagnostics
If you choose Share in the app, Solen uses Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to collect content-free app-use events, app and device details, and crash diagnostics so we can fix problems and improve the app. Firebase assigns app-instance and installation identifiers so events and crashes from this installation can be related over time. Solen does not attach your random service ID, and this telemetry never includes your training history, exercise names, goals, health values, photos, measurement reports, messages, prompts, or AI responses. You can stop future collection anytime in Settings. On this website, Firebase Analytics loads only after you choose “Allow analytics” and records visits, page interactions, App Store interest, support actions, and broad scroll depth. Printed Solen materials may use a Solen download link that keeps only an aggregate campaign and daily scan count before redirecting to the App Store; Solen does not add IP addresses, device identifiers, or browser details from those scans to its database. We do not use advertising cookies or track you across other apps or websites. You can change the website choice at any time using Analytics settings in the footer.
Notifications
If you choose to enable notifications, Apple Push Notification service and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging process an app-specific device token plus technical information needed for delivery, such as app version, device model, operating-system version, language, and time zone. Solen links the Firebase token to your anonymous service ID and current access tier so we can send relevant service and coaching notifications to the correct group. These functional notifications are on by default once you allow notifications, and you can turn Coaching Presence off in Solen or disable notifications in iOS Settings at any time.
Promotional notifications
Separately, you can opt in to occasional promotional messages about Solen, such as product news and subscription offers. This is off by default and never bundled with functional notifications: you choose it with its own control on the notification screen or in Settings → Notifications, and you can opt out there at any time without affecting coaching or service notifications. Only when you opt in is your device token also used for this marketing purpose. Promotional messages never contain your training, health, or other personal content, and we never use them to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Withdrawing consent
You can withdraw AI consent in Settings → Data & Privacy. AI coaching, proactive messages, photo analysis, push-token registration, and optional analytics stop, the device is removed from Solen's notification groups, and the app returns to the consent screen. Your local training history is preserved. You can separately delete your account and data using the deletion control.
Accessing your data
You can request a copy of the data Solen's service holds about your anonymous account in Settings → Data & Privacy. We collect the delivery email you provide only to verify, communicate about, and fulfill that request. We respond within 30 days and remove the request record after fulfillment.
What we don’t do
We do not sell your data. We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and Solen uses no advertising identifiers.
Deleting your data
You can use Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete account & data. After Solen confirms that the request was recorded, the app removes your on-device profile, plans, history, measurements, photos, and meals, unregisters the device from notifications, and returns to a fresh state. We delete the anonymous Firebase account and operational records described above no later than seven days after the request. OpenAI's separate retention period for prior API inputs and outputs is described under AI coaching. See the account deletion instructions.
Age requirement
You must be at least 18 years old to use Solen. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
