Solen is a personal training and coaching app. This policy explains what data Solen handles and why. Your personal training content is stored on your device. Relevant context is sent when you use AI coaching, and limited operational records support access and usage controls.

Data stored on your device

iOS

Your profile, training program, workout logs, check-ins, body measurements, progress photos, and meal logs are stored locally on your device. Solen does not keep a server-side copy of that complete training history. Optional backups in iCloud Drive and exported backup files let you restore the training data they include after the app is deleted or the device is lost or replaced. Personal health details, measurements, pain scores, health records, progress photos, consent, and device permissions aren’t included in backups. Backups do not keep devices in sync.

Android

Your profile, training program, workout logs, check-ins, body measurements, and progress photos are stored locally in Solen's private app storage on your device. Solen does not keep a server-side copy of that complete training history and excludes this data from Android system backup and system device-to-device transfer. Optional backups in private Google Drive storage and exported backup files let you restore the training data they include after the app is deleted or the device is lost or replaced. Personal health details, measurements, pain scores, health records, progress photos, consent, and device permissions aren’t included in backups. Backups do not keep devices in sync. You add progress photos through the Android photo picker, which gives Solen access only to the photos you choose; Solen saves a resized copy without the original photo's metadata, such as location.

Training backups and recovery

Backups include your training plans and saved plan versions, workout and block history, goals, training background, notes, and supported training and app preferences. They exclude structured personal health details, injuries, measurements, pain scores, connected-health records, progress photos, meals, chat history, notification history, consent, device permissions, and notification tokens. Notes and other custom training text are preserved as written, so anything you put in that text is included.

Cloud backup is optional and requires a separate choice. On iOS, backups are stored in your iCloud Drive; on Android, they use private app storage in your Google Drive after you authorize access. Once enabled, Solen starts a backup immediately and after each completed workout; you can also choose Back up now. Solen keeps the latest five successfully uploaded backups per source device. Portable files you export are independent of this limit. Solen does not store these backup contents on its own service.

A Solen backup file is readable JSON, with its training payload encoded for transport; it is not password-protected or encrypted by Solen. Keep exported files somewhere you trust and share them only with people or services you choose. To issue or verify a backup's authenticity and preserve eligible Intro or Free access, Solen's service receives the backup identifier, a cryptographic fingerprint, anonymous service identifiers, proof, and app version/platform details—not the training payload. A backup does not transfer a paid subscription or restore consent or device permissions.

You review a backup before restoring it. Restoring replaces the included training record rather than merging devices. When replacing existing training in Settings, Solen keeps a local recovery copy of the previous included training record. Recovery copies have the same exclusions as backups and expire after 30 days. Data not included in a backup is not recovered from it.

Apple Health · iOS

If you choose to connect Apple Health, Solen requests read-only access to the health and activity categories shown in Apple's permission sheet. Imported values are stored with your other on-device measurements. They may be included in the relevant context sent to our AI provider when you use AI coaching, as described below. Solen does not write to Apple Health. You can change access at any time in the Health app or iOS Settings.

Health Connect · Android

If you choose to connect Health Connect, Solen requests read-only access to weight, body fat percentage, resting heart rate, and actual asleep-stage duration. Connecting Health Connect is optional, and Solen remains fully usable without it. Solen does not write to Health Connect. Health Connect does not provide Solen with waist measurements or the SDNN form of heart-rate variability, so Solen does not import or substitute those values.

Solen reads Health Connect only while the app is open and only for the categories you allow. The first connection imports up to the previous 30 days; later refreshes look back 14 days. Solen does not request background access or access to older history. Imported values are stored with your other on-device measurements. They are used to show your measurements and trends, to inform readiness and weekly check-ins, and, when you use AI coaching, to provide relevant context to our AI provider, as described below. They leave your device only for AI coaching, over encrypted connections through Solen's service, which does not keep them in its operational or AI request records. They are never included in analytics or crash reports, used for advertising, or sold.

You can change or revoke access at any time with Manage access in Solen, in Health Connect, or in Android Settings. If you revoke access, Solen stops reading new values and keeps the values it already imported until you delete them. You can delete individual measurements in Solen; while access remains on, Solen may import recent values again. Delete Solen Data removes every imported value from this device. Solen's use of information received from Health Connect adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Measurement report scans · iOS

If you choose a measurement-report photo or PDF, Solen reads it on your device using Apple system frameworks and, when available, Apple's on-device language model. Solen does not send the report, its pages, filename, or recognized text to Solen, Apple, OpenAI, analytics, or crash reporting. You review and confirm the extracted values before they are stored with your on-device measurements. Temporary report data is discarded after saving, cancellation, or failure. Confirmed measurements may later be included in relevant AI-coaching context as described below.

Existing program PDF imports

If you choose to continue with an existing training program during onboarding, Solen sends the one PDF you select to protected temporary storage and to our AI provider, OpenAI, so it can organize a program for your review. Solen accepts one PDF up to 20 MB and does not make the result active until you approve it. To let an interrupted review resume, Solen temporarily stores the organized review result in protected storage; Firestore keeps only content-free coordination and integrity details, not the PDF or organized program content. Solen deletes the protected on-device PDF as soon as you accept or cancel and requests immediate deletion of both temporary server copies. Inactive server copies are automatically deleted after one hour. The accepted program is stored on your device; Solen does not keep the original PDF with it. OpenAI may separately retain API inputs and outputs in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days, or longer when legally required. OpenAI does not use API data to train its models unless the customer explicitly opts in; Solen does not opt in. Product analytics, crash reporting, and AI operations records never receive the PDF, filename, program contents, goals, exercises, prescriptions, or review decisions.

Operational service records

iOS

When Solen opens, it checks with our service whether the installed app version is supported, sending the app identifier, version, and build. This check can run before AI/service consent and does not create a service identity. If an existing service identity is authenticated, our service links the version and build to that identity.

After you consent, Solen creates an anonymous Firebase service identity rather than asking for a named account. The identity is required to secure AI requests, access controls, usage limits, privacy requests, and notification delivery. Our service keeps limited records linked to that identifier, including coaching usage counters, access level, the latest app version and build observed from existing service requests and version checks, and—when Intro access applies—its start date, status details, and expiry date. For purchases, our service verifies the App Store transaction and keeps product and transaction identifiers, purchase and expiry dates, and ownership details linked to the service identity to provide subscription access. If you enable notifications, it also keeps a Firebase Cloud Messaging device token and entitlement-tier notification group. To operate and improve AI coaching, we also keep short-lived technical request records: selected model and reasoning setting, token counts, calculated service cost, response time, and success or error status. We do not store prompts, coaching responses, plan content, or health values in these records. These records are separate from the complete training history stored on your device.

To protect our service from abuse, Firebase App Check uses Google Play Integrity to confirm that requests to our service come from a genuine copy of Solen on a genuine Android device. Google Play services performs this check, and our service uses only its result to accept or reject requests.

Additional service details

For purchases, our service verifies the store transaction and keeps product and transaction identifiers, purchase and expiry dates, and ownership details linked to the service identity to provide subscription access.

AI coaching

iOS

To generate coaching, Solen sends relevant context — your goals, training history, and confirmed metrics such as weight, body fat, recovery, and sleep, along with check-in notes, meal notes, or chat messages you choose to enter — to our AI provider (OpenAI). This data is processed to serve you and is not used to build advertising profiles. OpenAI may retain API inputs and outputs for abuse monitoring for up to 30 days, or longer when legally required. Progress photos and raw measurement reports are not sent. The separate, consent-bound handling of an existing program PDF is described above.

If you report a response from Solen, the app sends us the reported text, your message that it answered (if there is one), where the response appeared in the app, the app platform, version, and build, and, when available, an internal reference to the related request. The app adds no other messages and none of your training or health data; the reported response and your message are sent as written, so they may include details that you or Solen mentioned in the conversation. We store the report with your anonymous service identity and the time we received it, use it to review reports and improve AI safety, and do not share it with OpenAI or any other service. We also keep a daily count of your reports to apply a daily limit. Each report is scheduled for automatic deletion 90 days after we receive it.

Analytics & diagnostics

iOS

If you choose Share, Solen uses Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to collect content-free app-use events, app and device details, and crash diagnostics so we can fix problems and improve the app. Firebase assigns app-instance and installation identifiers so events and crashes from this installation can be related over time. On iOS, Analytics also derives a broad region from masked IP addresses without using Location Services. It may measure in-app purchase and subscription events supported by its automatic collection, including product identifiers and prices. Solen does not attach your random service ID, and this telemetry never includes your training history, exercise names, goals, health values, photos, measurement reports, messages, prompts, or AI responses. It is not used to track you across other apps or websites, and you can stop future collection anytime in Settings. This combined choice is optional and off by default. App-use events include your selected app language. Solen asks after service activation and before onboarding. Not Now keeps collection off; Solen may ask once more after 30 calendar days at a quiet Home appearance. A second Not Now ends automatic reminders until AI/service consent is withdrawn and restored. Withdrawing AI/service consent disables both sources and resets this choice. A later Share never replays earlier events or sends crash reports from before that choice.

Firebase SDKs also send limited technical diagnostics to operate and maintain their services, separately from optional app-usage and crash sharing.

Android

Sharing app usage and crash diagnostics is one optional choice that is off by default; choosing not to share does not reduce your access to Solen. If you choose Share, Solen uses Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to collect content-free app-use events, app and device details, and crash diagnostics so we can fix problems and improve the app. App-use events include your selected app language. Solen asks on the Coach tab after onboarding. Not Now keeps collection off; Solen may ask once more after 30 calendar days. A second Not Now ends automatic reminders until AI/service consent is withdrawn and restored. You can stop or start collection by both services anytime in Settings → Privacy & Data → Share usage & crash diagnostics. Withdrawing AI/service consent disables both services and resets this choice; restoring consent asks you again and does not automatically resume sharing. A later Share never replays earlier events or sends crash reports from before that choice.

Google Play Console statistics and Android vitals may give us supplementary app reach and quality reports, including crashes and app-not-responding reports. Android vitals reflects people who enabled Google's usage and diagnostics sharing on supported devices; it does not represent every athlete. These platform reports have their own participation and reporting limits and are separate from Solen's optional Firebase choice. Solen compares these sources only as aggregate counts and does not join their identities with Firebase Analytics identifiers or its random service ID. Solen may also occasionally ask Google Play to show its rating prompt; Google handles any rating or review and does not tell Solen whether you left one.

This website

On this website, Firebase Analytics loads only after you choose “Allow analytics” and records visits, page interactions, App Store and Google Play interest, support actions, and broad scroll depth. Printed Solen materials may use a Solen download link that keeps only an aggregate campaign and daily scan count before redirecting to the App Store; Solen does not add IP addresses, device identifiers, or browser details from those scans to its database. We do not use advertising cookies or track you across other apps or websites. You can change the website choice at any time using Analytics settings in the footer.

Your website language choice is saved in this browser so we can remember it on later visits. This functional preference is separate from optional analytics.

Notifications

iOS

If you choose to enable notifications, Apple Push Notification service and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging process an app-specific device token plus technical information needed for delivery, such as app version, device model, operating-system version, language, and time zone. Solen links the Firebase token to your anonymous service ID and current access tier so we can send relevant service and coaching notifications to the correct group. These functional notifications are on by default once you allow notifications, and you can turn Coaching Presence off in Solen or disable notifications in iOS Settings at any time.

Android

If you choose to enable notifications, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging processes an app-specific device token plus technical information needed for delivery, such as app version, device model, operating-system version, language, and time zone. Solen links the Firebase token to your anonymous service ID and current access tier so we can send relevant service and coaching notifications to the correct group. While you are using Solen, the app checks your AI consent and notification choices before showing a remote notification. When Solen is in the background, Android may show the notification’s title and message directly, according to your Android notification and lock-screen settings. Solen also schedules some reminders and Coaching Presence messages on this device; Coaching Presence may use AI coaching, as described above, to prepare its messages, including while the app is closed. These functional notifications are on by default once you allow notifications, and you can turn Coaching Presence off in Settings → Coaching or disable notifications in Settings → Notifications or Android Settings at any time.

Notification history

Notification history is kept on your device for 30 days so you can review recent messages and reminders. It is excluded from training backups and removed when you delete Solen data. On Android, remote notifications shown while Solen is in the background may not appear in this history.

Promotional notifications

Separately, you can opt in to occasional promotional messages about Solen, such as product news and subscription offers. This is off by default and never bundled with functional notifications: you choose it with its own control on the notification screen or in Settings → Notifications, and you can opt out there at any time without affecting coaching or service notifications. Only when you opt in is your device token also used for this marketing purpose. Promotional messages never contain your training, health, or other personal content, and we never use them to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Withdrawing consent

iOS

You can withdraw AI consent in Settings → Privacy & Data. AI coaching, proactive messages, push-token registration, and optional analytics stop, the device is removed from Solen's notification groups, and the app returns to the consent screen. Your local training history is preserved. You can separately delete your Solen data using the deletion control.

Android

You can withdraw AI consent in Settings → Privacy & Data. AI coaching, proactive messages, push-token registration, and optional analytics stop, the device is removed from Solen's notification groups, and the app returns to the consent screen. Your local training history is preserved. You can separately use Delete Solen Data.

Accessing your data

iOS

You can request a copy of the data Solen's service holds about your anonymous service identity in Settings → Privacy & Data. We collect the delivery email you provide only to verify, communicate about, and fulfill that request. We respond within 30 days and remove the request record after fulfillment.

You can request a copy of the data Solen's service holds about your anonymous service identity in Settings → Privacy & Data. We collect the delivery email you provide only to verify, communicate about, and fulfill that request. We respond within 30 days and remove the request record after fulfillment. This includes any reports you have sent about Solen's responses.

What we don't do

We do not sell your data. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and Solen uses no advertising identifiers.

Deleting your data

iOS

You can use Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete Solen Data. After Solen confirms that the request was recorded, the app removes your on-device profile, plans, history, measurements, photos, and meals, unregisters the device from notifications, and returns to a fresh state. Local recovery copies are also removed. Backups in iCloud Drive and exported backup files aren’t removed by this action. We delete the anonymous Firebase service identity and operational records described above no later than seven days after the request. If the request or local cleanup is interrupted, Solen pauses normal use and lets you retry. It returns to a fresh state only after local cleanup finishes. OpenAI's separate retention period for prior API inputs and outputs is described under AI coaching.

Android

You can use Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete Solen Data. After Solen confirms that the request was recorded, the app removes your on-device profile, plans, history, measurements (including values imported from Health Connect), and photos, disconnects Health Connect in Solen, unregisters the device from notifications, and returns to a fresh state. Local recovery copies are also removed. Backups in Google Drive and exported backup files aren’t removed by this action. Permissions you granted stay listed in Health Connect until you remove them there. We delete the anonymous Firebase service identity and operational records described above no later than seven days after the request. Reports you have sent are deleted within the same period. Deleting the app removes the data on this device but does not delete the service identity or its records; if you can no longer use the in-app control, email support@solenfitness.com, and we may need information that lets us locate and verify the anonymous service identity before acting. OpenAI's separate retention period for prior API inputs and outputs is described under AI coaching. If the request or local cleanup is interrupted, Solen pauses normal use and lets you retry. It returns to a fresh state only after local cleanup finishes.

See the data deletion instructions.

Age requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to use Solen. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
